Amicalola Falls stands at 729 feet tall it is the tallest waterfall in Georgia. Steps run the entire length of the trails for the top to bottom.The name "Amicalola" is derived from a Cherokee language word meaning "tumbling waters. Amicalola Falls State Park is an 829-acre park located between Ellijay and Dahlonega in Dawsonville, Georgia. Amicalola State park has a wide variety of trails raining from short hike to an eight mile trail that will lead you to Spring Mountain which is the southern end of the Appalachian Trail.
